Jean-Antoine Roulet of Peseux was the author of several essays on viniculture, written for the Société d’émulation patriotique. These dealt with subjects such as pruning and vine parasites.
François Roulet (1768-1845), a member of the Peseux branch of the family, was a successful businessman, philanthropist and patron of the arts. He was the friend and patron of Neuchâtel artist Léopold Robert, and paid for him to study art in Rome. François is also known as François Roulet de Mézerac (his wife’s name) or François de Roulet, because he was ennobled in 1819 by the King of Prussia, Friedrich-Wilhelm III.
Gustave de Roulet (1811-1852), his son, was a well-known local artist. |
